A HOME(LAND) IS LIKE THE WIND (2019)
Photo book (76 pages)
In the fall of 2019, I visited India for the first time. India is my mother’s birthplace, and South Asia my ancestral homeland for as far back as our family knows. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to not only visit my extended family, but also to be a visitor in many different cities across western India. The photographs in this book were taken as a love letter to the country tied so deeply to my identity, as well as my gift to those cities that allowed me to be their guest. The photographs span New Delhi, Jaipur, Pushkar, Amritsar, Agra and Munnar. They illustrate the beauty I was constantly in awe of and surrounded by during this trip. To my surprise, these places also had an air of familiarity, comfort and ease, as if it was not the first time I had walked these streets. Special thanks to my family in New Delhi for helping me make these travels possible.
